Beans on Toast

Name: Beans on Toast
Ingredients: 1 tin of baked beans; 2 slices of bread; grated cheese

What you need

Salt, pepper, water and oil don’t count. Mom always had those.

Warm the beans in a pot on low. Toast and butter the bread, tip the beans over and scatter cheese on top so it melts in.

There is no wrong time of day for this and everyone in the house knows it.

Warm the beans slowly. Boiled beans split their skins and go mushy.
