Apple Cake
What you need
- 3 apples
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100g butter
Salt, pepper, water and oil don’t count. Mom always had those.
What you do
Beat butter and sugar, add eggs, fold in flour with baking powder, then the chopped apple. Bake forty-five minutes until a knife comes out clean.
How it feels to make
Peeling three apples takes longer than making the rest of the cake put together.

Leave the apple chunks big. Small ones vanish and you wonder where the apple went.
